Eduardo Freire Nakamura is a researcher and Professor at the Research and Technological Innovation Center, Brazil. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 2007. His research interests include data/information fusion, distributed algorithms, localization algorithms, wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, mobile and pervasive computing. In the last 7 years, he has published regularly in international conferences and journals related to those areas, and also presented tutorials at international conferences, such as ACM SIGMOD and IEEE CIT. He has also served as a TPC member for over than 15 international conferences, such as, IEEE Globecom, ISSNIP, ACM SAC, IEEE PIMRC, ICCCN, IEEE WCNC, and IEEE AINA. Prof. Nakamura is currently serving as Associate Editor of the following journals: IEEE Sensors Journal, Internation Journal on Distributed Sensor Networks, and International Journal of Network Protocols and Algorithms. In 2009, he received the Latin America Region Young Professional Award, granted by the IEEE LA Comsoc, for outstanding and promising professional record in the field of communications. He was also the recipient of the 2008 CAPES Great Thesis Award, for the best Ph.D. thesis in the field of Engineering and Exact and Earth Sciences, granted by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
