It's generally accepted that StrictionD Review carbs should make up roughly 40% of your daily calorie intake. However, as you probably already know, not all carbohydrates are created equal. If we're looking at good carbs, here are some of the choices that you should be making to include more often in you daily diet: You have been told your blood sugar level is too high, and no doubt you are wondering just how this happened. How did you develop pre-diabetes or Type 2 diabetes? In the last decade there has been a 90% rise in the prevalence of Type 2 diabetes, and a staggering tripling of Type 2 since the 1980's. And the massive number of people with pre-diabetes does not suggest these numbers are going to be lower in the near future. Type 2 diabetes is more complicated than Type 1: 1. Type 1 generally develops in childhood or young adulthood. Friendly fire, in the form of the body's white blood cells, attack the cells of the pancreas destroying it's ability to produce insulin. 2. Type 2 typically affects middle aged overweight adults. Belly fat... 90% of newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetics are overweight or obese and, what's more, there is usually a large belly! And in that belly is a specific type of fat... visceral fat. Now this is not fat under the skin or subcutaneous fat; this is fat in and around the liver and other organs inside the abdominal area. Visceral fat cannot be removed by liposuction... liposuction only removes subcutaneous fat (subcutaneous fat does not cause insulin resistance which leads to Type 2 diabetes). Why is Belly Fat such a Problem? Chemicals are produced by visceral fat which prevents cells from responding to insulin as they should. One of insulin's jobs is to help transport glucose into your cells; insulin opens the doors to your cells and lets glucose in. Without this process sugar remains in your bloodstream, without sugar, your cells can't function. Inflammation is one of the ways your body responds to injury... which is a good idea when you get the flu. The chemicals sent out by visceral fat though, cause inflammation that can trigger heart disease and affect your blood vessels. Weight Loss? Weight loss is not just a good idea to help with lower blood sugar levels, it will help prevent other health issues as well, including avoiding a heart attack. Simply taking a few pills or injecting insulin will not take care of Type 2 diabetes. Do you know many people with pre-diabetes or Type 2 could be treated without drugs if they made changes to their diet and added exercise to their lifestyle? One of the genetic diseases that we have these days is diabetes. The way it is manifested is usually dependent on the environment. What this means in simple terms is that one cannot be able to prevent it if the genes are inborn but it is possible to put the disease under control by having a good lifestyle and maintaining a healthy diet.
