The Impact of Pre and Post Homework Assignments on the Ninth Grade Students’ Achievement in Islamic Education

Abstract


This study aimed at identifying the effect of the pre and post homework in the ninth grade
students’ achievement in Islamic Education subject. And to achieve this objective, three
sections of ninth grade students in Nadeem Al-Malah Basic School for Boys were selected
and divided into three groups; two experimental groups where one of them is given pre
homework while the other is given post homework and the control group is not given any
homework. An achievement test was applied on the groups. The study came up with the
following results: the two experimental groups (the pre-homework and the post-homework)
showed superiority over the control group in the achievement test. And the group of
post-homework showed superiority over the experimental group of pre-homework.The study
recommended the teachers’ adaptation of the post-homework and variance of periods of time
for addressing these homework.
