Focus and Scope

Journal of Food Studies is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing knowledge across the entire food system — from production and processing to consumption and policy.

The journal publishes high-quality original research articles, reviews, and applied studies that integrate scientific rigor with practical relevance. It serves as a platform for researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to share innovative findings in food science and technology.

The journal particularly welcomes interdisciplinary research that addresses global challenges in food security, sustainability, and public health. We encourage submissions that bridge science, technology, and policy for a more resilient and equitable food future.

Key Areas of Focus Include:

  • Food chemistry and analysis
  • Food processing, preservation, and engineering technologies
  • Food safety, quality control, and risk assessment
  • Nutritional science, functional foods, and obesity research
  • Food policy, sustainability, and regulatory issues
  • Emerging technologies in food production and supply chain management

Alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Our mission supports a more sustainable and equitable food future. The journal aligns with:

  • SDG 2: Zero Hunger
  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
  • SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG 13: Climate Action

Open Access Commitment

All articles are freely available to readers worldwide. We believe in democratizing knowledge and fostering inclusivity in global food research, especially by supporting voices from underrepresented regions and early-career researchers.
